Fields of Interest: Parkinson's disease and Schizophrenia
El doctor Gabriel de Erausquin recibió su título de Médico de la Universidad de Buenos Aires en 1986, y a comienzos del año siguiente entró como becario al Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas de la Argentina. Sus investigaciones sobre los efectos farmacológicos de la hormona vasopresina sobre la conducta animal y humana le merecieron el grado de Doctor en Medicina, otorgado por la Universidad de Buenos Aires en 1990. Su tesis recibió la calificación de Sobresaliente. Luego de dos años de perfeccionamiento postdoctoral en la Universidad Georgetown, el doctor de Erausquin completó la residencia de psiquiatría y un año de especialización en neuroimágenes en la Universidad Yale, y la residencia de neurología en la Universidad Washington. El doctor de Erausquin es especialista en neurología y en psiquiatría reconocido por el American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology de los Estados Unidos de América, y actualmente se desempeña como profesor asistente de ambas especialidades en la Universidad Washington, en Saint Louis. Sus trabajos de investigación han recibido amplio reconocimiento internacional, incluyendo el Young Investigator Award de la Sociedad Internacional de Esquizofrenia, el APA-Dista Residents Research Award de la American Psychiatric Association, el S Weir Mitchell Award de la American Academy of Neurology, el Joint Junior Faculty Award de la United Parkinson Foundation y la Parkinson Disease Foundation, y el Klerman Award en Psiquiatría Clínica de NARSAD. El Dr.de Erausquin ha sido nombrado investigador Stephen and Constance Lieber, e investigador Sydney R. Baer Jr.
